the day before was ms cecilia foo's birthday. hence being the wonderful friend that i am, i decided to put my new found adobe photoshop and creativity to good use. i created two photoshopped pics frrom the plethora of photos we took. here they are:

huili commented that it looked abit kiddish. but a commendable first attempt i must say. ahah. i'll work harder and upgrade my skills k! =)

lirong just sent me the videos tonight. i'm too tired to do anything after a fantabulous dinner @ P.S Cafe Dempsey Road. it was A SUPERB place to eat. the ambience good. the food yummy. and the waiters were good stuff too. ahah. it was to celebrate siew li's birthday, so she was very very nice and treated us ALL (total 11 of us) to dinner. would have amounted to roughly 300+ close to 400 after GST and everything... but her husbands doc. so its okay. hahaha. thankew siewli! and happy birthday! =)

i ordered this fire prawn pasta. felt a little bit cheated because i was expecting humongous prawns. when the dish came, i was trying to find my GIANT prawns below all the pasta. BUT they turned out to be normal sized prawns, so i was kinda sad cos they was supposed to be bigger than that rite!! lol. nevertheless the food was satisfyingly good... i was overall okay with the food. the fish and chips are nice. except for the weird bits of veggies, e.g. carrot sticks, asparagus and cucumber sticks.

the ambience was nice. it was a cosy little place for small groups to meet up for dinner and have a hearty chat. serving cocktails is a bonus because it doubles up as a bar/pub as well. but highly inaccessible unless you have a car because its really far in, somewhere in between Tanglin and Holland V (MFA there), which guarantees the classiness of those visiting the place.

i was bloated from all the food and the two cakes they brought for her. hence siewli got to listen to double bdae songs and made two wishes. how lucky. double her chances of her wishes coming true. ahahah. =) hope she had a good time. yawns. im sleepyy. toodles.

oops. just to clarify. yu zi tea isnt pomelo. its citron. and i checked out that bottle of gook my mum uses to make that cup of tea for me that cost blardy $3.50 at Shokudo. its only like 9bux plus for a glass bottle. and it can make at leasst 10 cups. pieces of crap. URGH.

holidays should be spent doing things that we like. in fact not just holidays. life should be spent doing what we like best. i'm actually very happy i managed to borrow books on Playwriting. at this point, you're probably going something like "mad cow" or "crazy bugger", but thats just me. i love theatre. some people cant be bothered with it. just watch a play lah! no big deal. but i love acting. and i'd like to take it one step further. i wanna direct/script write.

medicamp is becoming a chore. i could have been earning money during that week, cos RI has vacancies for that week. but it clashes with pre camp and medicamp. and i'm in like the opening comm? which means have to do a little skit and all that. but the peepz in the main comm want us to put some animals into the skit. wth. crazy nuts. just to fit the theme of medagascar. bo liao.

nvm. the main one is regarding Playhouse. wonderful memories from last year. hope this year will be even better.

tmr is tuition + surprise @ siewli's house. one more day to the eve of labour day. i cant wait. and i'm gonna master photoshop this holz. MUAHAHA.

new doors open when old doors close. i dont know if what i'm doing is gonna turn out right eventually, but i hope so. we dont invest in what we perceive to be of little value. thus with this little mustard seed sized faith, please tell me i was right in making this choice. i cant wait till labour day. =)

maybe i should stop behaving in such a mean manner. then again, some people are really bitchy and rude. so they deserve abit of bitching and rudeness deflected back to them. like i told a friend, i dont crave that pathetic girl's dollars to the point where im gonna place my ego at her mercy. im a doc to be, hello. maybe as a precaution i'll be evil to all patients if they're called Joanne and are 4 years younger. =p

today was celebration for tian tian's birthday. after church we walked aroound so much until my legs felt like they were gonna have a mind of their own and start detaching themselves from my ligaments and joints and capsule and what not. thank god i passed anatomy to know that these crap are very strong and will not make my legs run away. so othe whole day was spent finding her present at takashimaya and wisma and we finally got her an ALDO watch. =) quite pretty in my opinion.

the best part was dinner at shokudo. this jap marche styled eating place at raffles city basement. the food was not too bad but the drinks a tad expensive. $3.50 for a small cup of yu zi (pomelo) tea which is the exact same thing my mum makes for me like everyday. urgh. and this cranberry vinegar which tasted like cranberry juice + vinegar for $4.50. such a rip off.

the food was very salty. laced with tonnes of msg. physiology is explaining why my thirst centre's forcing me to drink so much water after coming back from that place. i swear im gonna pee fountains tonite before i sleep. i'm drinking so much la. oh. the first salmon i got was this pathetic puny piece of pre-pubertal penis-like salmon. it was SO SMALL. omg. i cant explain how much of a joke it looked like. hence i decided to go find the cook and thank god he was kind enough to change one for me. the replacement didnt look anything like an anaconda, but it provided adequate oral pleasure i guess.

the entertainment was good. photowhores have upgraded into videowhores. now we're preserving our memories onto videos ever since i created that huili eats mian video a few weeks ago. i'll await lirong's sending of our 129381730912 videos, and once editted and weaved into a proper one, i'll upload it onto youtube for everyones viewing pleasure. =)

it was very fun. talking crap and making funny faces at the camera. we had this 5 sec 5 pose thing. every 5 sec the camera will click and u'll have to pose with this stick used for reserving tables at Shokudo. theres a big RESERVED stamped onto that wooden ladle like thing which very much resembles the wooden plate placed behind convicts in ancient times. before execution the magistrate would have that plate removed and thrown onto the floor with a resounding ZHAN3! so we had 5ppl X 5pics + 3 person rotation 5sec pose too. all the pics ended up looking damn ugly. but it was well worth the memories. will collate into a collage and post once tiantian sends pics. :)

then me and huili (whats new) had this talkshow recounting our arduouss journey to finding ms cecilia pangsai foo's present. including footages taken live from perfume departments, with our awesome teleportation skills, at Shokudo, and even LIVE from a mental hospital. must stay tuned k. a sure tickler. :)

alright, im tired. im gonna shower properly now. and wash up my face, put my mask and go to bed. its been long day. btw, its just nice 12am now.

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY TIANTIAN! =D

i received an sms from one of the coordinators of Startutor regarding a BIO/CHEM tuition sec 4 yesterday. so i was like.. hmm, why not give it a try? no harm seeing whether she fits the bill. negotiations were going smoothly with the coordinator and i was told to msg the student called Joanne to see whether she could arrange a timeslot apart from her tuesday 330pm one.

so i was smsed her.

"Hi, Joanne, could you make it on Sunday afternoons instead?"

cos she happens to stay near Kallang which is roughly 5 minutes away from my church. then she was replied:

"Hi Reuben, prefer weekday afternoon, cld you arrange."

So i decided to ask where exactly her house was. its at kallang bahru or god knows where. approximately 40minutes away from my house by bus, at least. my next sms to her was

"does bus 33 go there?"

because if i finished my tuition at another kid's house @ tiong bahru, maybe i could get a straight bus down. then her sms came half a day later at roughly 6pm.

"no. only XXX, XXX, XXX and XX buses"

one minute later another sms popped up

"can you confirm tuesday 330pm now"

so i went home to check street directory.com and checked out the buses (i have to take at least 2 and estimated journey time roughly 40minutes) to get down. so i sent another sms explaining my church and asking for sure if she couldnt do it on sunday. i found her next sms extremely rude.

"no weekdned"

so i thought about it and decided to tell her that i would not be able to make it then if it were on weekdays because timing-wise its not convenient for me. and the travelling up and down to give her a 1.5hr tuition (of which i'd only get a meagre $37.50) would mean i spent an equal amount of time on tuition and travelling. and i apologised. her next sms really was shittily rude beyond belief.

"cancel the session"

i was uber fcking pissed. hello. YOU wasted 10 minutes of MY life deliberating whether i should help you in ur lousy studies. needless to say, being a BIO/CHEM tuition kid would mean that you're fcking dumb. why? because nobody needs bio tuition. much less a COMBINED SCIENCE bio/chem tuition, so it means shes some fat ugly girl from some neighbourhood school. on top of that, the least she could do would be to be nice and polite to a stranger. so if u're dumb and u have no manners, i think life's very sad for you.

that last sms was the last straw. i replied with a

"obviously, it will be cancelled since neither of us are able to come to a common agreement on the schedule"

stupid fcking dumb impolite bitch. hope she dies for her Os this year..

Ever since the exams ended, everyday has been an exciting new day. It's been a hive of activity, the way i want it. Life should be like that. Started off last thursday with a shopping after the exams. AND addie no, guys can like shopping too okay. As long as ppl buy stuff for themselves, they will remain happy and cheerful. Friday was a steamboat cum mahjong party @ Charissa's house. Havent touched those tiles in eons ever since my eyeballs started mugging for the exams like 120981290 weeks ago. Wasnt too bad. I won quite alot of rounds. HAHHAHA. =)

Today, the vivas came out. I'm rather pleased that I'm neither on distinction or extinction vivas. Despite being abit disheartened that I didnt do as well as I thought I should have for biochemistry, I realised that it could have been a blessing in disguise. The people who got their Distinction Vivas for Biochemistry are probably gonna mug their ass off for the next 4 days. And... I dont think thats the way I wanna spend my holz. So I've passed year one. I'll be able to pack all of KDR's indigestible and unabsorbable (the irony) GIT notes and stash them away into the netherworld.

Last tuesday should have been the most interesting day of the week. I went down to visit a rather famous doctor, not because I was sick, but I was accompanying a friend down. Her clinic was in Holland V and she was dressed in pink purple and blue. SERIOUSLY. Very exciting for a doctor. Got me all excited. Inside her office was this nice big chair with many fluffy comfy pillows along with millions of pics from her model days (yes she was a model before she decided to become a doc) plastered on the wall. And reading material included a few photoalbums from her photoshoots. SO COOL RITE!

She's my role model. A socialite as well. I was so thrilled I took a big picture of the entrance to her clinic. Next time I will put bigbig DR. REUBEN FOO also.



Tennis at Aloy's today was OKAY. I could have done better. Lost 7-5 to korkor in singles. It was so close. I was up 3-1. Then he caught up and eventually we went to 5-5. The blazing sun made me close to fainting, so I decided to call for a water break. I was obviously a bad choice cos I lost stamina after that and conceded 2 games to lose the match. URGH. Followed by mahjong and bridge and spades, which we've not played for eons. Im beginning to be rusty. Needa start refreshing my bridge!! =[

Alright, I'm tired. Nites.

Okay. Today marks the end of the papers! Shopped my ass off till my pelvic diaphragm and Levatores Ani dropped to the far away heavens. 40% off at ESPRIT. How often do you get that?! THANK YOU BRENDA! So obviously i bought alot of crap. Alright, not alot. I got a bag and 5 tops for $150. Normal price was $250. WAHAHHAA. Retail therapy ROX. But out of the 5 tops, only 2 were for me. So its alright. The bag was originally $100, discounted to $60, which brings the average of the 5 tops to $18?! HAHAHA. ESPRIT tops fo $18, including one SHIRT. pwnage.

Lunch at Friends@Jellita was good. The Italian food was super yum and the prawns... ahh contained juices from heaven. Bite, Chew and you wanna Bite and Chew and keep Biting and Chewing cos it tasted soo good, juicy and succulent. If u swallowed it, you'd feel sad, because they only gave you three prawns, of which one I very nicely donated to Charissa cos she was birthday girl. =) Such a magnanimous boy. Hee.

I'm kinda thankful I spent half an hour from 3.30am to 4.00am reading Pelvis and Perineum instead of sleeping despite my throbbing headache BECAUSE PELVIS AND PERINEUM CAME OUT FOR MY ESSAY QUESTION TODAY. Luckily I remembered enough to vomit crap on the paper from my stored memory of tutorials 3-4months ago with Dr. Dinesh Kumar (complete with his accent ahah). Happy. I think Anatomy today was okay. Easier than Physiology and Biochemistry. So... we await the extinction vivas. Or Vulvas, in Bessie's own words.

Tmr is Charissa's party. THIS MARKS THE BEGINNING OF MY 4 MONTH BREAK IF I DUN TIO ANY UNWANTED PHONE CALLS FROM NEXT WEEK ONWARDS. GOOD LUCK TO ME. I cant wait to start playing, writing scripts, planning Europe, more shopping, going out, mahjong! WHEEEEE! REUBEN IS FREE!

I was tired of flipping through the never ending pages of physiology and memorising complex biochemical reactions. Hence I started digging through my drawer and I was pleasantly surprised. All the gook from my JC days, including my PW draft which looked utterly crappy, was lying in my drawer.

Why did it look utterly crappy? Cos my not-as-clever-as-me group mates who were entrusted with the simple task of printing it were so @(*!&#*!(@ stupid to the point where despite being TOLD that the project wasnt in custom fonts (so that should have downloaded the fonts before printing it out, BUT THEY DIDNT) they didnt listen. They just printed it straight... WITHOUT CHECKING THAT THE FONTS AND ALIGNMENTS WERE OUT OF PLACE THEY SUBMITTED IT TO THE TEACHER. OMFG. Two brains X 2 people summore. Can you believe it. Say until my blood also boil. Plus one of them is featured on the RJ website for getting some SIA scholarship. Blind how to fly plane?! lol. Okay shant bitch. But seriously!! Maybe not fly plane, but how to manage ppl like that?! Common sense darlings. Omgomgomg. RJC. Throw face.

Blue slips. Things which gives us free access out of school because "we are not feeling well" as written on that piece. Usually its more of "I don't want to attend Low CM's okay-alright bio tutorial" on a perfectly bright and sunny Friday afternoon. It's the beginning of a weekend. And if he drones on and on, okay alright, about Is-lets of Langer-hons (he pronounces it that way), okay alright, who would wanna stay? hahah.

Ancient thingum. I think my dad bought it when I was umm in Kindergarten. I cant find any date on it. But he bought it cos there was my favourite song inside "Right here waiting" by Richard Marx. And it costs blardy 24bux. Amazing for such a disgusting looking CD. But i'm gonna keep it. The songs are still playable... ahhaha. Amazing.

Okay. Enough blogging. Back to work! Work work.

My sleep cycle is very screwed. There goes all my circadian rhythms (revise in Endocrine physiology). I woke up at stunning seven PM this evening. Yes. It was night already. I looked out of the window and I couldnt see the sun. I remember seeing it when I fell asleep roughly around 7.15 AM this morning. URGH. not good. So now, dinner is the new breakfast, and it was Sushi Tei. Ate till my Ventromedial Nucleus screamed enough is enough, and all my Neuropeptide Y ran and hid in the little corners of my brain. Okay. Too much studying.

Medicine students are at very high risks of going crazy when it comes to exam season. Especially those who have been playing alot before hand (just think non-stretchy rubber band stretch very hard = breaak). Their bodies are not used to the stress, abit like if you exercise very hard after periods of long inactivity, you will feel the shiokness of it all. Which kinda explains my siaoness now. I WANT IT ALL TO END SOON!

On a brighter note, as much as we're nearing the beginning of exams, I'm able to see the end of the journey of this first "year" in medicine. 6 days more to my 4month break. AH. I will survive.

Madonna's 4 minutes is nice. Only 4 minutes to save the world. And she bounces on cars, walks on people's dinner table like she does it everyday. Funny how when I searched Madonna on wiki the first entry I got was Mother of Jesus. =X Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie was born on August 16, 1958, which makes her FIFTY this year. But on her MV she dances with Justin like.. woah. like she's only THIRTY. So powerful.

I will invent an elixir of eternal youth next time. So be nice. Ha. Shower time!

omgawddz. the power of PHOTOSHOP. i swear i'm gonna learn all the functions in it by the start of the next academic year so that reuben will look like a god in all his photos. HAHAHAHA. but then i'll needa get a photoshop too. nvm. i've got a friend whose in this webdesigner business who uses photoshop like everyday. and he says hes got phake photoshop which he can lend me to try out. WOOHOO!! okay after exams first pls. =X

AND, i'm rather sad. RI/RJ didnt reply the relief teaching application crap that i sent in a few days ago. this saddens me greatly. i'm not gonna have any pocket money for the time i'm not studying. the only opening is from like 31st june to 21st july, of which two whole weeks i have OGL pre-camp and Medicamp respectively. u think RI would employ me for like 1 week?! nobody in their right mind would. NOW WHAT! at least i've got one tuition kid, which gives me roughly $200+ bux. i need more. i'll ask charissa. :)

anyone with any jobs to recommend? something that uses more brain power and less finger power hopefully. and attractive pay pls. hahaha.

Ah. i can't wait for this mugging madness to be over. having to cover roughly 800pages of Snell in 4days is no laughing matter. urgh. and i cant wait to end the blardy 3 papers so that i can start my EUROPE TRIP plans. yayness. its gonna be so much fun. just like the one i came back from.. icantwaiticantwait. think this time must bring all my memory cards along. last time 5 days in UK = 1.7GB. now go 3weeks = roughly err 6GB? i've 2X 1GB and a couple of 512MBs and 256s and 128s. will bring all of em there just in case. hahahahahahaha.

huili was saying last nite on msn if she went with us to europe... omg. how many pics will we take together lah. just do the maths. 1 europe trip X 2 photowhores = 120392 pics. madness.

and hopefully tmr the peepz in RI/RJC will reply me so that i will get my relief teaching job after my exams. so i got more gold coins to spend in my next europe trip. this round didnt buy too much. spent roughly 750 sing bucks for 5 days including travel and food and shopping. gawd noes how much i'm gonna spend in europe for 3 weeks. and summore not my money so i dont feel good. urggh. nvm. i'll earn it back! =) so fun so fun.

and i've downloaded so many movies not yet watch. after exams!!! AHHHHHHHHH. i cant wait. okay back to mugging. =X
